Logger Install – Power One Inverter

Power One Inverter - App Install

This post is for people who donot understand how to connect the inverter to the internet. Different brand inverters have their own set of steps and applications to connect the inverter to the internet. So I request you to not get confused these steps with other branded inverters.

Why to use an Inverter?

Connecting an inverter to internet is very important, Why? Because

  1. we can monitor everday units generation from anywhere in the world.
  2. Based on the data given on the app we can schedule a cleaning job so that panels work at full potential
  3. If the power generation stopped then we can understand that there is a technical issue with the system.

Equipment need - Post installation

  • Logger
  • internet connection
  • Mobile phone

Note: We need strong or good wifi signals near the inverter for seamless data transmission from inverter to the app database.

Step 1 : Physically Connect the logger in inverter.

Step 2  – Installing App and Plant Info

Download the Solar man smart app here playstore , Appstore. on customer mobile or your mobile.

  • Use Customer email Id and register – Verify OTP and set the password. Default password we use is the “solar123”, if customer needs a specific password, then let him choose.
  • Login in with new Credentials.
  • Now add the plant details like – Plant name, capacity, Residential or commercial, On grid or off grid, Operating date (Date of system started generating power). These are straight forward details so we are not providing any material or video for this. If you find and trouble please call your regional manager or osmium energy head office.

This is the Screen you will be seeing after entering the plant details. In this Image we have given plant name as start fuel station.

Step 3 : Add Logger to the App

Tap + on top right corner.

Now tap on Add logger, which looks like a walkie talkie. On that logger we have the necessary details like the QR code, SN number and password.

Tap on the plant name you have created.

Now add the SN number or scan the QR code.

Step 4 : Connect to Logger network (or wifi)

Now Close the app and try to login again. At the time of login tap local mode which is on the bottom and scan the QR code again which is on the Logger to see the logger network name.

After the scan  you will see what is the logger network name(like the one in the image below).

Now we need to connect to this network from our phone wifi. If you observe carefully above and below networks are same.

Connect to this network with the password provided on the logger stick.

Now go back to local mode and tap next

Step 5 : Connect Inverter network with customer wifi

Open Chrome browser and enter the below ip address in the chrome link and use the given credentials.

Note: Make sure you are connected to logger wifi network only.

Address : 10.10.100.254
username : admin
Password : admin

After the login, tap on wizard.(Like the one given in the image). In this step we will connect the inverter to the customer wifi network.

Now after you go into the wizard, you will be shown the list of wifi networks in that range. select the customer wifi network and enter the password(you need to take the password from the customer).

Just go ahead and tap next until it is connected.

After connecting to the wifi password the logger on the inverter will give a green light on the net just like the one in the image below.

After the wifi is connected, now open the solar man app to check if the app is being updated or not. If it is updated you will see the screen like the below one.

If you come to this screen with numbers, you have successfully installed the app and connect the solar system to the internet. Now with these login details the customer can check his/her solar plant power generation from any corner of the world if he has an internet connection.
